According to Guillim is a bearing resembling a cheveron, which issues from two angles of one side of the shield, and meets in a point about the middle of the other side. It may issue from either side, dexter or sinister, the point should be mentioned in the blazon. This is similar to a pile except from the sides and passing all the way to the far edge.
