Bag of Madder	Variants: Bag of Madder, Madder
A cloth bag bundled with string forming a three by three grid and having circular lumps in the corners to distinguish it from other bundles of wares. A bag of madder roots. As borne in the Dyers' Arms. Madder root was used as a textile dye producing orange and red tones.
